Design for Education and Innovation

Design for Education

For more than two decades, I've partnered with schools, universities and educational organizations to create communications that engage their communities and bring their stories to life.

From magazines and annual reports to advancement materials, digital communications, research publications and complete visual systems, I lead projects from concept through production—or step in as an experienced design resource for an in-house communications team.

Eagle Hill School

magazine and communications redesign

I have worked with Eagle Hill over many years, across virtually every area of school communications—from Eagle Hill News to admissions and development materials, special events and a major capital campaign. Together, we created a cohesive visual presence that captured the school’s bright, joyful community while showcasing the expertise of its faculty and the achievements of its students.

REACH Prep

annual reports, development materials and digital communications

REACH Prep provides talented underserved students with 12 years of academic preparation, independent school placement, college counseling and ongoing support. For more than a decade, we’ve worked together across print and digital communications to engage donors, explain the organization’s unique model and celebrate the remarkable achievements of its students.

Greens Farms Academy

admissions communications + design support

Working within GFA’s established visual identity, I provided additional design support to the school’s communications team during a busy admissions cycle, creating a series of materials that made complex information clear, engaging and easy for families to navigate.

University of Bridgeport

Annual Report

Celebrating a record-breaking year of giving, this annual report transforms a limited library of visual assets into a lively, engaging story through bold typography, infographics and layered design—showcasing both the impact of donor support and the momentum across the University of Bridgeport.

Yale Law School

identity design

Work for two Yale Law School programs exploring complex intersections of law and society. For the Solomon Center for Health Law and Policy, the identity brings together familiar symbols of law and medicine in an unexpected way. For the Law, Environment & Animals Program (LEAP), the classical column becomes both a symbol of the legal system and a cage—placing the small mouse within a much larger institutional structure.

“Most designers I’ve known are reactive, waiting to be told what to do. Sarah hears what I say, then steps back and thinks through the problem. The work that comes back is smart, beautiful (on budget) and never would have occurred to me.”

I work comfortably as an extension of in-house communications teams—taking on an entire publication, a special project or simply providing extra design support during a busy time.

I would welcome the opportunity to talk about your design needs.
